Carl killing the kid in the season finale, whether you thought it was justified or not, does NOT show that he’s on a path to being a “little governor”. if ANYTHING, the reasons he provided sounded exactly like the type of thing SHANE would have done, not the governor. the governor operates more for personal revenge and satisfaction than self-preservation. Shane was all about that self-preservation-at-all-costs thing…much different than the governor’s just fucked up state of mind. it was like the randall situation all over again…Carl could have just let him go, but just like Shane was afraid letting Randall go would put the group in danger later, Carl took the kid out.  literally the same decision Shane would have made, and for the same reason.

i saw a very drunk girl, who was passed out, sitting on the ground…

she was leaning up against a bus stop near the liacouras center on broad street.

(to be exact it’s in front of the pearson and mcgonigle halls at temple university, where i go to school)

i had just left a party, thoroughly intoxicated, and was stumbling back home. i saw the girl sitting there, out cold and helpless.

now north philadelphia is not the place where you want to be passed out and defenseless folks…on temple campus or not on temple campus; boy or girl…

and either because my phone was dead, or i was just too drunk to think to call for help i decided to sit next to the girl until one of the bike cops eventually stopped and got help. (they are EVERYWHERE at temple) i didn’t want to walk to find help, because i didn’t want to leave her alone. the bike cops and EMT’s eventually came, and i sat in the back of the ambulance with her as we both were taken to temple hospital. i held her hand because i hoped she would be okay, and because i was scared shitless because i didn’t get the chance to declare amnesty…so i knew i was going to be in deep shit with my parents and the university.

we were separated when we got to the ER, and i never saw her again. i never even got to know her name. i never got to know if she was okay or not.

i did have to talk to my parents about it though, who were none too happy about the whole thing. it was made worse because they were under the wrong assumption that i, nor the rest of my siblings when they were underage, partied and drank. to this day, they still threaten to pull me out of school if i get caught drinking again.

now, not that getting put on academic probation isn’t a big deal, but you would think that the only reason i got in trouble was because i wanted to make sure someone didn’t get kidnapped, raped, or murdered…you would think my parents would be a little more understanding or forgiving.

but no, almost a year later, they care more about the fact that i went to parties and drank than keeping other people safe. priorities, people. priorities.

i always wondered, if my sister were the girl in the story, how my parents would feel about the boy in the story. they probably wouldn’t give a damn about him going to parties…cause he has the shit that matters in life straightened out.
